How does one become a commercial airline pilot?

Honestly, I think it's Commercial Airline Pilt school. I don't where one is, but I know you do have to go to a school for it.

Normally, you need previous experience.....like military flying or any previous hours in a plane.

Just get a tan, put a diaper on your head...and start where most Middle Eastern pilots start at.......

your local 7-Eleven.

Military or Private School (Embry Riddle).....

2 - 4 years and you will probably start out in a commuter turbo prop job making diddly.

A few years, and you can make 100K easy..

Yearly exams and Certification tests and if you fail them you are booted..

My father was a pilot for American Airlines for 31 years. Having a good reference doesn't hurt. First, you have to get your license... that will take you about 100 hours at a flight school, where you pay instructors to teach you to fly... then you need to build your hours up to about 1500 before a commercial airline will look at you...

In the mean time (after you are licensed and get your instructors license), you teach other students (thereby increaseing your hours)... once you get your commercial license then you can do charter flights for a smaller airline... around 1500 you might be able to do flights for American Eagle or types of flights like that...

My father was a Navy pilot and it took him 3 years to get into the Airlines...

I think you first need a university degree then go to a very expensive flying school.

yup exactly I think there's one in Florida near Orlando. My parents wanted to send me there. The cost was about 50k. Not kidding. But then once you get a good job for a major company we're talking about 100k and over... plus the privilege to get some good time with the stewardess

I looked into it once. You first need to start out taking flight lessons and get your private license first. You're looking at 40-60 hours to get your license. From there most people become flight instructors and work their way up from there. A lot of pilots are former military pilots.
