How do YOU wake up in the mornings?

I'm trying to get a good wake-up routine going.. For the last few months I go to bed around 11 or 12, and then set my alarm clock for 5:30, then when it goes off I know I have 2 more hours to sleep, so I set it to 7:30 and then after the snooze goes off a couple of times I get up around 8. Yesterday I accidently set it to 7:30 so when it went off, I had to get up right away, but I noticed that I felt a bit better sleeping all the way through to 7:30, instead of my regular 5:30 + 2 hours.. Do you guys sleep straight through, and then get up.. what's your technique?
 
sleep straight through untill the alarm goes off at 5:15. I feel like shit if by chance I have to piss or something sometime during the 2 hours before that alarm goes off.

So yeah I would feel like shit if I did what you are doing.

No, I think the snooze is something you learn to deal with when you're older..

Snooze makes me angry...it's offensive enough being woken up once.. so I just get up on the first alarm and stumble around disgruntledly for awhile. :)
 
i usely go to bed around 10-11 pm, i get up at 6.30 if im not up at 6.30 my yellow labs lickin me in the face, sayin get up mf.
 
i go to sleep between 10-11pm
set my alarm for 4:30am
hit snooze once for 5 minutes.
workout till 6am
go back to sleep till the second alarm goes off at 7am.
 
I don't understand why it's so hard for people to wake up. Depending on who you are on this thread, you've been doing it for like 20-40 years.
 
I wake up by light, every morning during a work week I need to be up by 4:30am, I have a timer on my dimmer light in my bedroom that gets brighter starting at 4:20 - 4:30, it gets light enough to wake me up, works like a charm.

I wake up with a pint of Old Grandad, a couple hits from the ole TM, and about 4.5 lines of yey and I'm wide awake and ready for fun.

When I was still in school, I would set the alarm about an hour early and just keep hitting snooze. Each alarm would wake me up a little bit more. It sucked, but it worked.

What she said. :) Plus, as soon as I wake up, I turn on all the lights, wash my face, brush my teeth, then shower....I have no choice to be awake then.

But that changes in a couple weeks when i have to change to EARLY morning cardio..... *sigh*
 
The alarm is set for 6:17AM (don't ask) but the dog usually has to go around 5:45 so the last half hour is spent trying to get back to sleep or spankin it.
 
Maybe it's my military background, but I think people should just get the hell up when their alarm goes off. Snooze is one of the most annoying things in the world.

Same here. If I am not up before the alarm I get up when it goes off. I be damn if I want to hear that alarm again. It doesn't matter anyway, it's all ways too early. :(

My little boy is hungry at 0500 on the dot every morning. He doesn't have a snooze button unfotunately.
Mine doesn´t have either :rolleyes: He also wakes up at 05 and is hungry. After feeding him we usually continue sleeping to 08-09.
 
I could never understand the concept of a snooze alarm. One annoying tone to rouse one from sleep is more than enough, no?

Brandon, why on earth would you get up at 5:30AM when you can sleep till 7:30?

I have always been a light sleeper and one that requires little sleep and also incredibly nervous about over-sleeping so regardless of what time I set my alarm for I wake about 5 minutes before the alarm LOL.

I have to be at work at 4:45AM (every other week that means my kids do too). We are usually in bed (I sleep with my kids) by 10PM the latest, but I try to be in bed by 9:30PM.
 
I think it's funny how most people will take the simplest concept, overthink the crap out of it and make funny "systems" for it. Alarm goes off, wake up. I do this @ 4:30 am and got out of the habit of hitting snooze, hell it's not like the extra 10min will miracousley give me so much energy that i'll pop right up and be ready for my day super energised. Snooze makes me lethargic.
 
i'd say the snooze goes off about 4 or 5 times for me......by that time I am very angry and usually slam a fist on the snooze button, and angrily get out of bed and drag my ass immediately to the shower.......

i hate mornings

Because when I wake up with the alarm set for 7:30, I wake up and i'm like "Crap, I have to get up now..."

When I wake up with the alarm set for 5:30, I wake up and i'm like "yeah! 2 more hours to sleep!"

I don't know, maybe I'm just nuts.
