Make sure you set a decent reserve price so that you don't give away your dress for 5 bucks if only one person bids.

This might not be wise, I've been selling on e-bay for a couple years. Setting a reserve price is safe, but the whole reason people shop on e-bay is to get a bargain. They won't think they are getting a bargain if there is a reserve price. Most of the time they won't even bid on items with a reserve price.
Bikini----First you need a digital camera or scanner, take about 5 pictures of the dress from all different agles, pics are--first one free, then 25 or 50 cents for every other pic. Be sure the pics are clear
If you want to set a reserve price, it won't hurt, but be aware that it WILL get fewer bids and you might have to re-list it. This gets expensive cause it takes a % of your opening bid every time you list it. Might cost you 10-20$ to list it once if the dress is really expensive.
Opening bid----(set it low to get more bids)--if you think it will sell for 200$ set an opening bid at around 50$, this will cost you about 8$ to list if you have 4 pics or so. it will get more bids, people can see how many bids an item gets, and for some reason, if they realize that other people want it, then they have to have it also. If very few bids, they figure something is wrong with it---(this is why I'm not a fan of a reserve price)
Another note----you become a reliable seller on E-bay by getting "comments". These are comments by your previous buyers and are usually praises about good customer service. My point is, a lot of people won't bid on anything if you have no praises because you can EASILY be a scammer. So it might be wise to sell a couple small things and get some praises before you list something expensive like this. Or get a friend to list it for you under his or her name.
Last thing----AND MOST IMPORTANT!!!!!!!---------The price of your item usually skyrockets at that last minute. People try to bid each other out. LIST IT ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON or EVENING!! . This is when my items get the most bids BY FAR. If you list it on a Saturday afternoon----(make it evenining, like 7 or 8), then it will end 7 days from that time(make sure you specify 7 days). So list it Saturday evening cause Saturday is the biggest shopping day!!!!. You can't specify what time of day you want the auction to end, so do it at those peak hours--7 or 8, Don't list it at 3 in the morning on a Sunday!!!!!
be sure to include the shipping price in the item description, Item description is very important, write a paragraph on this, ask people to e-mail you with any questions, I would guess a wedding dress is about 6$ to ship, so charge 10
I have a cliffs notes on buying and selling on e-bay, I still have it if you have any more questions. Please e-mail me, I'll be more than happy to help, later.
