How do you make protein?

Get your wife/girlfriend pregnant, feed the baby for a few years, kill it then cook it. That's one way to make protein.

How about powdered protein? :)

Also, why not just kill and cook the wife?

Whey protein powder is derived from just that, WHEY. When cheese is made there are curds and whey (just like the nursury rhyme remember "Little Miss Muffet sat on her tuffet, eatting her curds and whey". The curds they use to make cheese, the whey, up until a few years ago, they threw out as a useless by-product, until one day some brainiac happened upon realized that whey was actually a very high quality protein.

So I am assuming whey just grows? How would I be able to grow whey if I am understanding correctly?

at a molecular level, protein is synthesized from individual amino acids by molecular machinery called ribosomes. the protein sequence is determined by mRNA which in turn is transcribed from DNA. there are a whole wack of intermediates, cofactors, and other factors involved in the process but that's the gist of it.
