I'm thinking of making them & I've never made them before?? Just use liquor in place of the water?? What kind of liquor??

no you still need water too or it never /jelloizes/, i used too much vodka once and they were runny

we used to make them with recipe on the box..but half water half vodka

Thanks guys....had no clue....I've got those aluminum/metal (whatever) cupcake cups, so I was thinking of using them for the Jello - but didn't know the rest.

making them too strong makes them awful - i found taht the best way to do it is to buy those little disposable shot glasses with lids (cheap...five bucks for a couple hundred sort of thing, and they stack in teh fridge, cant spill etc...) and make them about 16-17% each so that they actually taste nice
anyway the important thing is to dissolve the jelly in about a third of the water indicated on the packet, then add ice cold water and vodka to the volume you want, pour into your little shot glasses, then put them in the fridge to set
i also found taht once theyre set, they stick to the bottom of the shot glass, so quickly dipping them in some hot water before setting them out on a table (or whatever) loosens them up really well and they fall out of the cup the way theyre supposed to...otherwise lots of the jelly is going to stick in the bottom of the shot glass and its a waste, plus its a bit annoying/embarrassing standing there with your mouth open with a blob of jelly that refuses to come out...you look a bit like Deterass waiting for his boyfriend to...you know...
