how do you know if you have hit your natural peak? i have been lifting 4-5x's a week for 2 years yet i have stayed the same weight give or take 5 lbs. i weigh 170lbs. been here for quite a while. is it time for the gear?i want to be at least 180lbs by October.

you need to sit down and evaluate everything, diet, routine, sleep, and make sure that everything is in check and has been for a while. It is hard to tell when you have reached your natural peak. You stated that you have stayed the same weight, give or take 5lbs, after lifting for 2 years. IMO there hasnt been much of a natural gain at all. You should have been able to make better gains than that over a 2 year period. You need to change things up naturally before turning to gear. Change your diet, use other suppliments such as protein, glutamine, and creatine. I made excellent gains naturally over a 2 year stretch. There is definately room to grow naturally bro, i wouldnt recommend gear yet, give it another year or so of lifting naturally.

If you haven't gained any weight after two years of weight training you might want to take a close look at your diet. If your diet isn't in order steroids won't help you either.

good advice, but I beat you to it:D

You need to evaluate your diet AND training. You may just be doing to much training. How are your workouts structured throughout the week? How many sets per exercise? How many reps? How many exercises per bodypart? You may just be doing too much. In 2 years, how much has your strength increased? Do you do squats and/or deadlifts?

The fact that you have made no progress in two years tells me that you are not close to being ready for gear. You gotta learn how to grow first, only then can steroids be an aid.

Check this out. Read it and then read it again...A MUST READ for anyone who works out!..

i have definitely gained more than 5lbs in 2 years but to me it seems like none, i guess soph year in college I was 161 but slim. now i am 172(168 in the morning, 12%bf), i lift 4-5x a week. I love to hit the gym. My strength has increased a lot. i remember when i was curling 25lbs my 2nd set. now i am doing 30/35/40 for 12 reps. i have grown a lot but i want to put on some more mass. I am pretty cut up. my diet is hard to maintain like the guys on the boads that i read. Senior year in college and eating habits are a little scratchy. I keep my body in shape all yr. and drink protein shakes and use metrx. my body is ready for the next step and i think am too. the research has been done, the gear has been paid for. is it really time?

i know people may flame but is 170lbs too small to start using. IMO i could do a cycle and be 185-190 afer 10 weeks then what would they say then!

all they would say is good job! i like that response.

when someone has a chance could you toss out a basic 6 meal/day diet. high protein/high carbs?

money is an issue so dont go overboard. my basic day is

4 eggs sandwich
cereal

protein bar

turkey sand/chips/fruit

protein bar

big dinner usually chicken and vegies

yogurt
post wrkout shake-flax oil 1 tblespn

frozefruit at bedtime

that is probably not enough cals at all but this is what i have been doing recently. i work 9-5 so it can be hard. im starving now, going to lunch! thanks bros.

Maybe this will help. This will be the diet I will be using soon. I will try and replace the meal replacements will real food when I can and replace the tuna with lean red meat. This is very basic, I will also use this as a minimum, will try and get 1 0r 2 more meals in when I can. Hope it helps.

1st Meal - MRP Shake
10g Glutamine

2nd Meal - 2 Chicken Brst
1 C oatmeal
2 tbsp natural PB

3rd Meal - MRP Shake
1 C oatmeal

4th Meal - 2 Chicken Brst
1 C oatmeal
2 tbsp natural PB

5th Meal - 1 can Tuna / red meat
2 tbsp Nat PB
10g Glutamine

6th Meal - Protein Powder
- or 2 chicken breasts

Ummm.....is it me or did I miss your height? I see your weight, but asking in reference (your question) without height is like asking if 120mph is too fast.....on a ten speed yes, in a sports car, no.....

How tall are you?

AS to gains....if you havent gained or leaned out in the last 2 years (i.e. traded fat for muscle gains).....your training is stale as well as your diet...you should re-evaluate both as Machine mentions in the first reply.

So, first question that nobody asked is how friggin' tall are you? I'm 6'2" and if I was 170....id have an issue.....I'm 244# at 9%...but was able to put on most mass without AS, just good eating over 16 mos and solid training in a very unique style (it's the basis for my personal training practice with solid success).
