All they have to do is hit the start button and they can see all your documents, pictures, files, etc. Is there any way to block this? I found out that I have a nosy child.
As suggested by superqt4u2nv, you should probably look into the whole different accounts for all family members thing. However it does not eliminate the problem of your dearest family members looking at your most recent sacred documents and motivating images, when you decide to leave the Rig for a quick trip to the loo, (or maybe, the boozer) and forget to log off.
SO, You can hide these "recent documents", "favourites" and other shit from the Start menu by getting a program called TweakUI (or TweakXP, if you subscribe to Xciting Problems), and then find a "Start Menu" Tab, and uncheck the things you do not want displayed.
There is lots of other stuff you can customise when using these programs. TweakUI is free, and XP gives you a limited amount of times you can run it, but you can pretty much configure everything in a couple of runs, and forget about it.
Alternatively, you can easily change everything by editing the registry manually, but I don't suppose you enjoy THAT kind of pain.
If you do, then go right here:

Good luck.
P.S. It sounds like you're using XP, and have that damn "new" start menu.
A matter of personal preference, really, but I personally recommend you to switch to the "Classical" start menu look.
