How do you get motivated?

You get home from a long day at work and you just cannot bring yourself to get to the gym...how do you all motivate yourself to get your butt off the couch to get your butts to the gym???

Any tricks? Ideas? What motivates you?

I was wondering this earlier too, because I usually have no fuckin idea! I think I have add or bi polar disorder or something.

I used to take my workout stuff with me & went to the gym right from work....

Also, I never want to be back where I used to be....

train with someone you respect

the last thing i want to do is blow off my training partner

plus i want to look like a shredded gorilla, but that's just me

everytime i workout, i pretty much dont want. But I know that deep down after everywork it out, I get the greatest fucking feeling, so I do it. But Nothing like hitting the weights, cleaning up then going out for a night.

$$$$$$$$$ always = best motivation

No

Fear of loss is the greatest motivator.

People often fail to act on order to get something they don't posses, when they will act to keep something they fear losing

Think about it and don't forget it.

well, i guess that's true. it applies to everything including money. they say when they measure the pain of losing $$$$$ in the stock market to the joy of making $$$$$$, the pain of losing is about 3x greater, so people will hold stocks that are losers because they don't want to "lose" the money they invested. They think if they can only "get even" :) they'll be ok. They are much more likely to sell a good stock that is making them money.

I see your point, but it strikes me as more a problem of stupidity than anything else. An emotional response and an inability to distinguish assets from a particular investment.

But every sales person at some point learns that establishing a fear of loss is the best way to close a sale.

yup, thats the one.

I go straight from work. Once I'm home, I'm not gonna go back out, but when I lived in the city and the gym was only 2 minutes away, I'd go home and take a nap before I worked out. How did I get the motivation? I don't know, I've never not worked out.

That is my prob. I come home and map first! I am so tired after work I need to!
I need to kick my ass some more!
I need to really change my focus!
Thanks all

A training partner you don't want to let down.

And a picture of when you were really fat or really skinny somewhere in your home to look at.
