How do you "cut"???

i know its kind of a strange question but ive always been a very hard gainer and so Ive never had to cut before. Im now starting to get some fat around the mid section and even my neck is getting kind of fat looking. So my question is: How do you cut? Do I still lift heavy weight or do I just do cardio? Do I lift light weight and add in cardio? Help me:) thanks in advance!!!

I am currently about to start cutting, i will be doing the same stuff i did when bulking, just eating less and doing high intensity interval training on treadmill twice a week.

I used a Harris Benedict Formula for Men that came with this Cut.xls spreadsheet thing. I got he link for it off this site in the diet forum but forgot wich thread :-(
Ask in diet forum for more info.

Thanks guys!!! If you do the same workout but just add in the cardio then the time at the gym must never end.....i usually do about an hour at the gym but if Im adding in cardio, Ill be there an hour and a half. Shit thats a long time......

Kool thank you.

Lift heavy in the 3-5 rep range and keep protein intake as high as possible to preserve LBM.

No need for cardio... Caloritic deficit is all you really need. The only reason to include cardio is so you can eat a little more.

I just finished a 3 month cut... I lost 12-15lbs and dropped 5% bf. I did maybe 5 cardio workouts throughout the whole thing. Oh, and I only lost 1lb of LBM.

He's right, for the most part. Quite simply, it's calories in, calories out. Cardio doesn't need to come into play - it's mainly a way to burn more calories and allow for better nutrient partitioning.

Now, when you're talking extremely low bodyfat in terms of the destination, cardio may be needed. Specifically, AMC (alpha-mediated cardio). It's usually difficult for people to get this far without it.

Yohimbe has the same effect, but that's cheating. ;)

For me, I don't overcomplicate it....I cut out ALL sugar, which means all simple carbs. I eat as much green veggies, beef, chicken, and fish as I want. Carb sources are sweet potatoes, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, and oats. The only thing I drink is water.

With training, I add a ligh morning session with light olympic lifting with minimal rest between sets. I sprint after my squat workouts.

That is really all I do, no crazy calorie restriction, no routine overhauls, no ECA stacks and pill popping etc.

i know this is probably a stupid question but that means you won't drink any milk?

I know, it's hard, lol....but it is only for short times.....sometimes I'll have a glass or two, lol....but I definitely can't drink a gallon a day like my norm.

My route when dieting? UD2.0 or PSMF - Quickest way down is usually my favorite, 'cause I hate to diet.

I'm lucky i have a fast metabolism, I can eat a little bit of junk do minimal cardio and I lose fat...main thing for me is just plain reducing calories. However after bulking I like to do some cardio to get the joints back into par.
