How do you cut?

I have heard loads and loads of conflicting arguments on cutting, but what is the basic weigh to cutting and retaining as much musle as possible? I've just finished my second bulk cycle and I can't bulk again without a cut!

I currently train a four day a week program, only 5 minutes cardio and lifting 4 sets of 6-8 reps.

I'm eating 3,000 cals does that need changing for cutting?

If any of you could point me to some good reading material, I would appreciate it.

High protein, low fat, low carbs/sugar.....try to get most of your calories from protein. I think 3,000 cal. maybe alittle much for cutting. i stay around 2k, but it also depends on how many your burning....also clenbuterol does wonders post cycle...great for cutting and keeping gains...

High protien, low-moderate fat (all healthy fats), low carb.

I got 3 low carb days (50-75), then one day where I eat about 300 carbs.

I eat at about 400 cals below maintence.

Training stays the same, volume is slighty reduced, reps don't change though.

I will agree with High Protein, Low Carb, Low Fat. That will work for about 4-5 weeks for losing fat and weight rather quickly if your using AAS for muscle sparing. This type of diet works well if your around 20%+BF to get to about 14 or 15%. I would not use this type of diet without AAS. But after the 4-5 weeks.....this diet will come to a hault and your losses will be minimum. Why? Because your body needs an incoming source of fuel from either carbs or fat. You'll go into a semi-starvation mode after those 4 or 5 weeks. I've found at that point increasing your fats and keeping your calories still about 200-300 below maitenance works very well (props to Mr. X for the help). This way your body is still on high protein, your getting minimal carbs, and your body has enough fuel from the high (good) fats to keep it going while still at a caloric deficit. Allow yourself one carb-up day per week to replenish glycogen and maintain healthy thyroid activity in which your eating high carbs, moderate protein, and low fat.

Lots of walnuts! LOL.....there are ways, but just use a modified version of the formula.

gosh I guess bro.... Not many foods are high in fat while low in protein and very low to none in carbs, while still being accepted as healthy.

I'm going to start doing some Cardio, but I don't know how much is enough. Would I be ok just doing 1 hour a week? Or would I need to add 20 minutes at the end of each workout?

Little_Rage - My Stats are 5"11 208lbs. I was 212lb, but now almost four weeks off I've dropped 4lbs. I'm only eating 3,000 cals of quality food as 4,500 is just too much for me to do week in week out. I only eat crazy when on AS.

With two cycles I've managed to keep 20lbs. What I am finding is my neck, arms and shoulders loose the bloat and subsequently make me look as if I have lost weight. My strength is still there though!

Anyways, I want to try and cut at this stage and mantain muscle. So I'll take the advice and make a new diet.

Hopefully you can answer my question on the cardio?
