How do you check for a tick on your scalp?

maybe i'm paranoid...really fuckin paranoid

but i've had this little bump on my head for a long ass time.

its about the size of a pimple but its not poppable at all.

i always wondered it was a tick or something.

the size has never reduced. its on like near the crown of my head

i wanna know wtf it is. i thought scalps were supposed to be smooth :confused:
 
how long? i doubt its a tick. but when people come to a+e with a tick, we cover it with a bit of vaseline, then put a special plaster (its like plastic skin) over it. it suffocates the little fuckers, after about 45 mins they just come right out.

Ever see a full fed tick? Them lil nasty bugs can barely walk their fat bodies are there and their legs stick straight out.LOL

what it would do is feed on the top of the head until it was full then it would take off and wait until it was hungry then feed elsewhere..

I suggest if it is a tick and you have hair, shave it. They have babies!
 
you can try my method to find out if it is actually a tick-trust me, iv done it plenty of times. if it is-you've killed the little fucker, if it isnt-at least you know you havnt got a little thing living in your scalp. win win, id say

im actually thinking this method could be tricky if you have hair, il admit, iv never come across one in someones head, its usually in people's legs when they've been walking through tall grass, and even if they got hairy legs you can get away with shaving that, wouldnt be quite so simple on someone's head. i think in this case, im going to say, get it checked out.
 
Oh jesus christ. Get a hand mirror, stand in front of another mirror, look at your head.

If it was a tick and it's dug in it's not going to feel so much as a bump, you'll be able to move it. It'll be more flattish. If it's been there for a few days, it would start plumping up.

Don't you have a mom or girlfriend or someone who you can go to and say "Would you look at my head right here?"

Don't do that. When you suffocate ticks, they regurgitate blood into the host. That means that if a tick was on a rat before it was on you, you just got injected with rat blood. YAY! don't smother ticks!

Okay, now on the topic of it being a tick. Ticks don't stay on a host for weeks on end. It sounds like you just have a mole or a scab on your head. No biggie.

If it is a tick, you should be able to flap it back and forth, because they don't anchor their butts to you. They are just anchored on with their mouth parts.

Sounds like you just have a mole or a scab on your head, really. Just have a freind look at it for you, if you are worried.

If it is a tick, it will be killed.

Exactly. It also would have fallen off after a few days once it had ingested as much blood as possible....although you may have brushed the swollen body off and all that remains is the embedded head. :sick:
