I'm not exactly striving to be a bodybuilder of any sorts, but that doesn't mean I don't want to looked some what ripped. My problem is my waist is narrowed in so that my hips are buldged in, it looks nasty. What could I do to straighten it out to look or muscular?

Basically you need to work those muscles. The simplist way to start is to lay on the floor, on your side. Just lift your leg into the air (keep toes pointed), and back down to the other foot - repeat 10-15 times and 3 sets. Later you can do this with ankle weights etc.

True cleans should combine the deadlift and squat movements into one lift. A routine I am currently trying is: One set of five true cleans, on the last clean front squat untill failure.

you could also use the chick machines :P hip adduction and hip abduction... works all the muscles in the ass/hip/groin area.

How about standing straight up and bending to a side with a dumbell on that side, and then moving back in to a straigt postion, and repeating

that would work abs/back/obliques etc., not hips.

Maybe I got the wrong groups wrong, I have fat along my side where the kidneys would be near right at the lower back and near the sides of the abs. I think it is the obliques, if so sorry for the confusion.

My friend, you have a lot to learn :). You are seeking to eliminate fat from a specific area of your body by doing a particular exercise? This is referred to as 'spot reducing' and it is an absolute myth and a waste of effort.

To lose this fat, you need to lose fat period. When/where it comes off is out of your control unless you can perform lyposuction. So eat less, exercise more, and keep hanging around elite and reading. you'll get there.

yep. sounds cliched but this kind of advice has to be repeated, re-repeated and re-re-repeated on these boards bcoz life is tough and without hardwork nothing is gained.
