Sodium chloride is an important electrolyte so it's not bad for you at all. Too much of it can be bad though, just like pretty much anything else in the world.
Start by using only naturally occurring sodium chloride, ie. sea salt, and see if that helps. If it doesn't even you're probably just salting your food too much.
My doc put me on a HIGH salt diet when I was pregnant. Some women have problems with getting high BP while pregnant. Actually, when ur pregnant, ur BP is usually a little lower if you don't have this problem. I had the OPPOSITE problem. We had a hard time keeping my BP from dropping below 80 systolic. It was crazy. I was always light headed. We tried increasing my water intake at first. That didn't work. I was drinking a TON of water but my BP kept dropping. He put me on a high sodium diet and my BP finally started to hang out around 90/50. Hell, glad it worked. He was talking about putting me on bed rest if the salt didn't fix the problem.
