How bad is it really?

I'm going to start my first cycle this fall of sust 250 twice a week. My buddy keeps teasing me about the pain I will have from the injection. how bad is it really? I've read about it but not sure what I'm in store for. I'm going to inject my quads. He's only done one cycle about a year ago of sust and he said he couldn't sleep on that side, hurt to walk or go to sit, and forget doing any leg work for about 3 days. Is this true or is he a pussy like I think he is? Lol
 
Its not bad at all. Many different variables of how your out come will be. Your buddy could have had bogus gear or done it wrong to have it hurt so badly. If you have good clean smooth gear with a proper needle size, a very sterile area and utensils, and hit it with a dart action in the correct spot you will not have that much pain at all. Could be as little as slight muscle soreness no different then a new workout to high pain for 1-3 days
 
Well if you are old enough to take steroids you need to realize that there are some things that go along with them. Site pain can be one of the problems. I am not sure of your age but from the way you speak and talk about this is sounds like you might be a young guy are a high schooler getting ready for summer traikning for next football seaqson or just wanting to get a quick fix for a beach body...and if this truely is the case then you are making a VERY SERIOUS CHOICE with your life. Once you decide to take steroids you cannot go back to not have taking steroids.....kind of like you just can't say oh yea well I'm a virgin again!

If you are old enough and mature enough to use these substances then this should not be an issue. If this is a question that you have and are this worried about I would STRONGLY suggest you rermain a "VIRGIN" so to speak.

But as I as we all know all to well? If you or anyone has their mind made up that they want to do something or take something then nothing anyone says will be able to stop them. That being said I wish you well and good health, but also wish you would think about why you are wanting to take these substances and is it REALLY time for you to take them. There is a time and place that they are appropriate, but is now the time? Think about that and only you can answer those questions. I and others are here for you whatever your choice maybe but think long term, life is a marathon not a sprint.

first 2 or 3 hurt after that nothing... just do it in the glutes most painless area to shoot

Thanx bro I appreciate your insight. I am of age I should have posted that earlier to clarify. I'm 28 and have read, studied, researched, talked to people on and off this board and done it all over and over again. I'm well aware of the sides, risks, and the steps to take to minimize that. I'm not concerned with the pain my second job is fighting so I undergo countless amounts of pain everyday so I'm sure I can handle a shot, I was just curious because of the way he makes it sound. I'm being told to take oct through jan off of fighting cuz they want me to move up in weight class so I figured I should have enough time to run a 10 week cycle and still pee clean by feb for my first fight at a heavier weight. My training and diet are spot on due to my trainer and nutritionist. My gear is from a very reputable source which I'm sure you might now of "him". And I have already got my cycle and pct layout from needto.
 
he is talking about the sustanon, not a general injection.

yes sustanon hurts cause of the BA content, not from the injection but for the next day or two your muscle will feel sore.. thats why you should read this thread I put up a month ago on reducing injectin pain:

otherwise use cypionate instead.

the 2 AAS that give me pain are sustanon and primo.. sustanon cause of the BA and primo I believe cause of the high molecular structure of 100mg per ml. I am in agony after a primo injection.
 
Again, depends on your sustanon. Some has high BA, some does not....
 
Stevesmi: thanx bro that was interesting. I will def keep that in mind if it's an issue. I'm not scared or Nevis or anything but curious because of his experience but he wines and cries about everything anyways. Do you think 25x1 is too small to inject with? I was thinking 23x1.5 and that's what that thread mentioned as well but I got some 25x1g for free from my neighbor. She's a nurse. She also hooked it up with 21x1.5 for getting into the syrenge.
 
You'll have to try it and see, everyone reacts differently. For example, some people find prop to leave a lot of post injection pain, and some have no problems. I've never found prop or sustanon to be any different than cyp or enanthate in terms of pain. I also inject quads...make sure you know where and how to do it. (Threads on here can be useful) As for needle size, I personally prefer 23g 1 or 1.5 inch, but 25g will work too. I just don't like leaving the needle in my leg for as long as it takes with 25g.
If you do get pain, I'm sure as a fighter you will be able to suck it up and work through it. Makes ya stronger :D

benzyl alcohol (BA) is used to increase the lipid solubility of esterfied compounds and to prevent bacteria growth in the oil. Most UGL's use excess BA or only BA as the co-solvent, due to it's modest price. Unfortunately, it can cause the destruction of cells and significant localised pain and inflammation. The discomfort is characterised by fairly rapid onset of a painful, red, swollen area. This can be ameliorated by diluting the compound with sterile cutting oil (grapeseed, cottonseed, sesameseed). A 1:1 ratio often works well.

with sustanon you are gonna want to go with 23G.

length of needle depends, as long as you can get a 1 incher into the muscle then go with that.

You're the man stevesmi! Thanx brother. I'll have her get me some 23g then. I did a little more looking into the 25g last night and it sounds like a struggle to push the oil through something so small
 
I'm injecting sustanon with a 25x1.5 needle on my current cycle. If I was sure I could get it through a 27 guage needele I'd use that. The smaller the better in my opinion.

Injected 2ml (not the sust) into my delt this morning....feels good

no matter what you end up using just make sure you inject slowly.. it can make a world of difference. and i've heard leaving the needle in there for about 20-30 seconds after injecting helps too although admittedly I usually don't do that, just want to get it over with and swab the area lol.

like others have said its true that after a while you just get used to the pain and it won't bother you, but if i inject in my delt and there is soreness it can effect your sleep if you sleep on the side.

I actually think that the hip is the least painful spot. You need to go directly into the bulk of the tensor fascia lata muscle.
 
I don't even feel them anymore, but once in awhile, I'll get a painful lump deep in the muscle due to a deep bruise. Maybe one out of 100 injections. You'll learn exactly the best spots and angles on your own body, which will be different from person to person. On me, the rear delts, the glutes are painless, but the front delts or quads tend to leave me with a sore muscle for a day or 2. You need to use a muscle that's thick; in order to reduce the injury from the stretching when the liquid is injected. I've experimented with just about every muscle I can reach which is thick enough to receive an injection, and I found that some hurt like f**k, and others don't. But other bros might have opposite findings.

The best tips for painless needles would be: 1) Proper site selected 2) QUICK & steady hand; meaning stick the needle all the way in, and in one pop. Not hesitating, as that DOES hurt as the needle slowly slices it's way through the skin. 3) Inject slowly. You can leave the needle in the muscle for an hour, and it's not going to hurt. Take your time injecting after the needle is in place. 4) Rub HARD with a tissue afterward, and massage deeply. That breaks up the ball of liquid and starts it absorbing.

As other said, a little pain is part of the deal. Not just injections, but pulls & strains, and smashed fingers, etc., are all part of the sport of bodybuilding.

I think your friend is screwing with you. When I first started a friend told me he would show me everything. when it came time for the first shot I got everything ready and he said "ok - the very first shot has to go in your nuts" I nearly shit myself! LOL
it just a shot brother, don't sweat it.
 
i think it depends on the person. i ran the same prop as Subs and i couldnt even workout let alone barely walk when i did quads. and couldnt raise my arm when i pinned delts. so i had to stop it. while he said it barely hurt..


this cycle ive been mixing 80mg of prop with either .6 test e or .7 Eq eod. The EQ cuts the pain to almost nothing. with test e the next few days the spot hurts and is sore but nothing a grown man cant handle or workouth through.

ive never used sust but ive had dudes that have experience say its not bad and then others say it was like my first experience with prop only. guess u will find out lol. personally the idea of prop does not appeal to me. id rather just mix the two and get more prop while the slow stuff is kicking in and then do away witht he prop week 5.
 
Honestly I have never had an issue with Sust, at all really, I love the stuff! No more soreness than any other test I have used. Occasionally (for some reason only on the lower area of the quad on my right leg, and I cycle between upper and lower exterior quads on both legs) I have had the oil on the needle (I always make sure I push the air out and let a couple drops run down and lube the needle) sting when I stick the needle in, and I can feel a little heat develop, but this goes away pretty quick (less than 10 minutes) after injection. Sustanon was great for me, it never hurt, and also in my opinion I strongly reccommend the 25g needle, length is your choice but dont go less than 1".

The 25g is narrow, but to me that keeps you from injecting too quickly, it doesnt hurt more to leave it in longer! Plus it produces very little scar tissue, and another bonus is that the 'hole' it leaves is much less likely to allow oil/blood to leak back out of the injection site. I have only used 22g, 1.5" needles to inject besides 25s, and to me they are longer than they need to be, and the longer the needle the more distance the tip sweeps around from movement (simple physics!) reletive to the "axis" where the needle meets the skin surface... which means more scar tissue and soreness causing tissue damage. When I was using the 22s (because I ran out of 25s and had a ton of syringes with 22gs already on them) I noticed that when I pulled the needle out, even at full depth a lot more blood and oil would drain out than I was used to... It would make me mad cause it seemed like so much oil! Normally I would get maybe a single, tiny, drop of blood after injection, but with the larger needle it would be a deep red spot the size of half a dime or a dime on the alcohol pad (I always hold a fresh pad over the injection site while I massage it). It wasnt a lot, really... but it felt like I was wasting a ton!!

If I were you I would just take a few more deep breaths during your inject and use the needle that hurts less (they both feel about the same), scars less, controls delivery, and looks a lot less scary!! Just my two cents!
 
i use 23's and 25's. i like both. neither hurt when i jab. i used a 22g needle on my delt one time just to try it since i had a bunch to use for drawing. it bled pretty good and stung.


honeslty the pain of the needle peircing the skin is like nothing. and this is coming from someone who was scared of needles horribly before i decided to man up and get on the sauce. the first time i pinned was my right quad with a 23g 1.5 inch. i put the needle tip right up against my skin and slowly pushed it in lol. it still really didnt even hurt. i get nervous before i pin and i think the nerves make me not feel the pin.

I honestly have no problems with pain at all with SUST. Use a 23-25g pin and it should be smooth. Be sure you inject
deep IM where ever you do inject.
