How are house prices in Texas?

I don't know about College Station, it's in the middle of nowhere..... but it IS a college town.
I move to Texas for the better housing prices (as compaired to Cali and Hawaii)

it depends. if you're in a major city, i.e. houston, dallas/ft. worth, austin, san antonio, the prices are going to be a lot higher than in one of the college towns. i've lived in san marcos and lubbock, and paid $600 and $430 respectively for my two apartments which were about the same size. in austin or houston i would have been paying at least $1000 for those places, if i wanted to live in a good neighborhood. your best bet would probably be college station price wise. and have you ever been there before? if not, you're going to be in for a shock, the aggies are a bunch of clones! i've never seen so many people that looked and acted just alike! have fun.

I'm serious, they do. And they have no sense of logic. I always thought aggies were ok, just a little zealous. Now that I have met more than a few, I know better. This is an engineering school that showed they cannot even build a simple column without killing people. They also have no respect for any kind of difference of opinion, and they seem to twist facts to fit in their own psychotic, twisted view of the world.
And I am serious, I have yet to meet anybody from A&M who didn't have serious psychological issues and problems that should be treated by long stays in institutions.

NO RAIN Ha Ha..... If you live in Houston, there will be plenty of rain for you (and 98degree heat at the same time)
Oh, and 45 min drive from Houston..... try 45 min. to get 5 miles from your house.
IF you plan to live in the houston area, pick on of the cities to the north...... but DO NOT LIVE IN houston city limits if you plan to drive anywhere.

Badkins can probably get you some info on house prices there...I grew up in NW houston near Tomball which offers the quickest and least patrolled backroads to get to College station and it took me about an hr to get there so I wouldn't consider living there and getting to A&M mon-friday
College station is probably the most fun I experienced at any college town I have lived in. THey have 2 good Golds Gyms that have or had almost 2 years ago some good serious lifters. The Golds in Bryan had some good people who wont bug you when you workout or who wont let you work in with them.
Football season is nuts and always fun for the weekends to have something to do. THe school is pretty good, and if you consider living in Texas when your done then a Degree from A&M could help. Aggies stick together.
I like college station enough that I'm going to try and get into the Corp when I apply a year from now for a green to Gold program to go back to college to finish my degree.
And CS has the best Fast Food Burito place I have ever been Free Birds!!!I HIGHLY RECOMEND YOU TRY ONE OF THE 3 LOCATIONS AROUND CS.

yeah, that did that shit to us in Weatherford(ftworth) too! They are just doing it to raise your taxes. You will only get market value for your home--not what it is appraised for---the are just screwing us with higher taxes.

And to answer your question about housing in A&M it is probably the cheapest college town to live in other than Texas Tech up in Lubbock.
