Dayum..... now I'd take that over a diamond ring anyday... ;)

I watched an auction this weekend & a 1958 Oldsmobile went for 3 million..........1st time in history a car was ever worth that much

Did you buy it or are you just teasing us?

:splat:

My reward for getting out of this business. Not yet sweetie. But it is on the horizon.

Chef - I probably will go with the classic British racing green.

i was at barret jackson right next to that car when it went though...........i have been going since i was 10.

3million is the most barret has ever had

16.2 million is the highest ever paid for a car a bugatti Royal 1932

boo.

I guess if you have loads of disposable income, which you appear to have.

But you can't honestly say that you can get more than 5x the utility out of that car than say, a loaded Camry V6 Solara.

Plus I'd be so nervous about driving it.

If I had that kind of disposable income, it'd be a Porche anyway. i grew up with Porsches on my walls, it was just my thing.

It looks like a black latex dildo on wheels.

No shit, the shape is all Anal Friendly.

I would rather drive a car.

Yeah, that was it. Didn't know about the 16.2 mill though......I'll have to find a pic. Thanks :)

You never did say whether you were going to work with the privatization of social security program.

Please don't.

I can see people in Jacksonville now... "Hey, here comes Matt in his Jeff Styker mobile."

I'd like the Porsche from Vanilla SKy

Depends how it works.

What business did you get out of where you can afford 250 grand on a car. And personally if you have that much money to blow I would rather get a Continental GT and save the extra cash for a SL 500

Not out yet bor. Financial and legal services to the insurance industry and institutional investors.

Aston Martin is as good as it gets with cars. Bentley, Rolls...once they showed up in rap videos...come on.

..and how lon do you think it will be until aston martins show up in rap videos?

You'll never stay ahead of the game in the long run unless you switch cars like underwear.

I know you better than that, but you make it sound like you make your buying decisions based on whether it's been in a rap video.

Get what you like, because you like it. Don't apologize.

What the hell makes a '58 Oldsmobile worth more than, say, a Bugatti Royale?

Guess I should have read more of the thread before replying...

If this skywalker guy really has the means to purchase this car, then he is definitly new money. You would never see someone who has old money bragging about whether or not he is going to buy a Aston Martin.

Having a nice car makes you feel good but dude you could buy yourself early retirement with that kind of cash. I drive a nice car and could afford to spend even more but I'd rather retire at 49 instead - booya where da beaches at? :elephant:

really?

yep, you're right.

my mistake.

then I would like the Ferrari from Vanilla Sky.

It was a 1963 Ferrari GTO 250. Sweet car!

Go with the SLR, didn't see that in the new Jay Z video yet..

Hopefully one day when I become an IP Lawyer I could make the big bucks you're making... doubtful though

Yeah.....and who gives a fuck again?

Wow, I have created quite a stir. How odd.

Just saying I like Aston Martins. :)

HAHHAHHHAA

Always liked that about you.

:)

You know it baby.

Sorry about this weekend - you called and we had no phone reception, not sure if me or you....but as the other thread indicates, the three of us had a nice time.

Maybe some time you visit too. ;)

I hope that new Aston Martins are a lot different from the old ones. I've driven a DB6 and a DB-V8, and they remind me of an English Maserati. Maseratis drive like trucks.

LOL How far back are you going?

I've driven the Vantage Volante...think it was a 97...not postive though...at an auction, and it didn't remind me of a truck, or a Maserati.

Well, the DB6 and DB-V8 were only produced for a few years each...

The DB6 had an excuse for being truck-like, since it was derived from the DB5 which was derived from the DB4 which was introduced in '58 or '59, so the 6 was very old automotive technology. The DB7/DB-V8 was their first all-new design in over a decade, and was the basis for the next two decades worth of A-M designs.

Even then, though, they had interiors of Rolls-Royce quality, with hand sewn Connoly hides and Wilton wool carpets.

How sweet would it be to own that, and then have a shopping cart
ding into it at Kmart ?

That would be hot. When i was 16 I worked in a supermarket, and one of my jobs was to push the carts in from the parking lot. Once I had a chain of carts get away from me and they hit a Ferrari. They did some damage.

Point is, don't bring your Ferrari (or Aston Martin) to places where there are a lot of carts.
