Hormone Blood Work

Caleb's Tree

New member
I had my blood work done. Haven't seen the results yet, but was told everything looked normal. However, this was supposed to be fasting bloodwork. The tech that was supposed to draw my blood took off for the morning, and I was starving so much so that I had to eat something and come back later to get my blood work done.

As far as I know, this would only affect my cholesterol levels, but would it affect other readings such as free testosterone etc?

If so, I need to get tested again to get an accurate profile.

I'll post my results maybe once I actually get them.

Good question. One T test that I had done said to fast for 8-12 hours. The next time (different place) didn't say anything about it. I wonder if it matters - cuz I do like to eat, ya know.

Doesn't matter much. The reasoning behind fasting is so there aren't abnormal elevations in things like sodium, glucose, cholesterol. It can alter hormones slightly but just take that into consideration keeping in mind hormone levels fluctuate throughout the day anyway and one reading isn't a set in stone level. Of course if a level is totally wacked it's a concern but the doc said you're fine so you're fine.
