Honey in my post workout drink?

Should I throw Honey into my post-workout drink?

even tho i'm on a cutting cycle?

If i do my carb count will come up to about 42g.
 
some recovery drink at the Gym

contents are something like this


calories - 280 , Fat 0 ( i think ), carbs - 25g , protein 35g
 
Simple carbs are a good idea in a post workout drink, but I wouldn't add the honey. The 25 gs of carbs in the drink is enough on a cutting diet.
 
I think the best thing for post-workout is a whey shake. The one I take is low carb, so I add honey to it.
 
yeah even on a cutting diet u still need simple carbs after ur workout to replenish your glycogen stores so i would use it, though i think dextrose from www.supplementdirect.com is very cheap and a much better choice
 
No, that honey shit didnt do shit for me when i took it PW. It's gi aint all that high either. Some people swear honey is best for PW, but I say it's not. I take Nlarge, gives me all I need. Im bulking, i dont know about cutting though.
 
If you have allergies

use locally harvested honey. One tbs per day and you're immune system will become tolerant of local allergens. Other than that, I guess a simple carb is a simple carb. If you are not restricting your intake don't worry about it.
