Homer simpson is Canadian?

In fact he is from my hometown.

Matt Groening was in Canada last week and said that Homer is based on his father, a Canadian. He pointed to Winnipeg as being the most likely place for Homer to come from.

Groening hopes Canadians won't take offence with Homer S. being Canadian.
