Homeless People Don't Exist

havoc

Shaolin Ninja
Everyone has a home, a home is a place of comfort, a place of content, whether its with friends, family or yourself, home is a feeling or sense of togetherness, belonging and satisfaction in all aspects.

These so called "homeless" people are not homeless, they are houseless.

Peace

I'm sure a homeless person would disagree with you. I'm sure they'd point out that a vinyl tarp wrapped around their body isn't a house nor a home.

But then I'm not homeless, so I don't care.

I'm in downtown LA this week, and let me tell you there are tons of homeless. I'll never get used to seeing people going through trash.

While I'm a sympathetic person to their plight, if I were to live here long enough I'd become quite resentful of them.

Yes, if I was one of those folks wrapped up in an old sleeping bag on a hard sidewalk in January in Denver with a 20mph wind blowing, I might find it hard to be so philosophical about the whole thing.

1) Cardboard boxes aren't great at providing comfort.
2) I doubt that you would be content if you were continually being abused.
3) If you are living in a cardboard box I suspect that you don't have much in the way of freinds or family.

I did volunteer work at a free kitchen, there isn't a whole lot of comraderie amongst the homeless.

Not sure if I agree or not, But I do know that Havoc is in a peaceful state of mind... house or no house

Yeah, he is just shedding a gentle, philosophical light on a shitty situation.

so what if they have no friends.. can never get comfortable or find any place that brings contentment.. never find any sense of belonging, satisfaction, or togetherness...

which is possible..

so yes.. people CAN be homeless..

in fact.. they could own and live in a house with a number of people and still be homeless according to your definition..

No, Havoc is saying that someone on the streets of Denver, sleeping in a vinyl tarp in 3 feet of snow will always have a home if he has friends and feels like he/she belongs.

Wait, that sounds like a good idea on paper, but not in reality.

Many can prove this wrong though. I am sure you are correct in many intances, but some like I say, would prove your 3 points to be incorrect.

Good points, but I will have to disagree, whatever a persons decision is defines contentment, defines being satisfied, lets take a horrible situation as an example, say a person has this shitty life you speak of, the "no friends", "no family", "no comfort" and the end result is "suicide" or some crazy shit like "murder", well that suicide and murder is the contentment, the answer they are searching, its the last thing that makes there void filled for that moment, that is there HOME. so now I give a ecaep to you nugga

Make they world your home, i think i need to travel a little again :)
Wonder if i should go and visit London or Amsterdam. Or maybe both? :)

Well I agree that some people become 'homeless' by choice.....and by your definition they wouldn't be homeless. But you made the sweeping statement of there is no such thing as homeless.....which I think is taking it a step (a large step) further.
