Homebrew

First off I know I am a newb, so what.... And I have already tried searching for this too.. When someone says homebrew does that meen they mixed some juice up? Like got the solid form of a steroid and some oil (whatever they use flax oil or something) and mixed up they're own littledosage per ml solution or does it mean the actual synthesis of the solid form steroid?? If it means the actual synthesis where can I find a guide on this?? All I could find was mixing power steroid solutions and steroid to steroid conversions... This seems like a pretty interesting subject I like chemistry.
