Homebrew question about Fina

I started making my fina a few days ago and I haven't got around to getting a funnel yet. Is it cool to leave it in the magic solution mixed with the oil for a few days before I filter it?

I had to do just that to a batch I made. I didn't have the right filters. I haven't had any complaints with the ones I made. Should be fine as long as you leave the rubber stopper on.

That's what I thought. the binding that has setled to the bottom look wayyy different thatn previous batches I've made.

That is quite a batch! My last batch was split in five 50ml bots. The sediment all settled evenly across the bottom and seemed somewhat more dense than you have there. How long has yours been setting? Did you use heat? I don't. I know it takes longer but, I prefer not to heat.

It has been setting for 2 days. It looks all fluffy like snow. Mine last batch settled to a hard looking goo. I heated up the pellets in the majic solution to get them to dissolve. the I added the oil and heated it in warm water and let it cool. I've never heated it before after I puored in the oil. I followed the directions of basskillers website. I don't know about the way it looks.

Shit, I'd coffee filter or use a pre filter, final filter it and go with it. I'd posts picks of mine but, I think you have to be Platinum, huh?

Made batches and batches and none of then have come out the same color....from a light golden to a dark brandy...depending on heat and brand of fina pellets.
It's all good.
