I want to work out at home and buy all the stuff i need. one problem when i bench incline, declien etc, military press i need a spotter to help with liftoff. Now i have no friends who are into lifting so thats out, have no brother to spot me. so question is shoudl i just lower the weight and do it all myself and work my way back up or stay at a commercial gym

on the power rack, u can set the pins to where if the weight gets heavy, u can set it on the pins. also, i would see if u can find some people into lifting around town. i hope this helps. tb

I don`t think you are talking about a spot but the intial lift off from the rack.
Why do you feel you need help with the lift off ?
I don`t think your talking about needing help lifting the bar off the rack doing a one rep max but doing your normal working weight for reps right ? If (for example) your doing bar benches with a weight that you can do 8 reps with, why would you need help lifting the bar off the rack ???? Answer: you don`t.
I feel this is a purely pyschological hurdle you have to get over due to the fact that you are used to having someone help you with the initial lift off. You will be amazed at just how much you can accomplish on your own. Don`t short change yourself.
You can do the lift off by yourself.......you will adapt and your insecurity about the lift off will be a non issue of the past.
Stop worrying and start lifting.
