They would never do Robin.

Ever.

you may be biting your tongue on that one.

In the comics, Robin knew who batman was (identity) and begged Bruce wayne to train him. In DK, the man that knew who batman was may become Robin in the next film (he was also a red head) by talking to bruce wayne and getting him to train him. That's how it happened according to story.

If the penguin becomes the next villain, I want Steve Carrell. Steve always does goofy movies. But, I can imagine him being a total creepazoid bad guy too. Like when he gets pissed in "the office" only he is twisted. Carell has the penguin lok to him.

Depp would be a great riddler. IMO anyways.

Steve Carrell is one of the best actors today, IMO.

Kudos to you for suggesting him for The Penguin.

As far as the next villain goes...

You will NOT see DK take on any mythical type foes... Whatever the next villain is, it will have to be very grounded in some sort of plausible reality. The motivation has to be well thought out...

They did an awesome job with the joker. Everything about the character, from the "make up" to his notorious "smile" and even his motivation as a villain was plausible. The character kept you with that "it could happen" thought in your mind, the way DK has for us... They didn't make the mistake of disclosing the joker's origin, which would have ruined the character for plot-pickers such as myself.

My bets on the next villain are not on the table yet... I do think that Bain, Pengui and even Poison Ivy are out of the question... All of those villains are too mythical, and the writers will have a hard time structuring a convincing motivation for they characters if their mysticisms is watered down...
Cat-woman is out of the question and so is Robin...

The riddler seems like the only logical choice. He is high profile and plausible... The fun part will be seeing what his motivation will be... They can't go now and cheapen the movie by turning the villain into a for-profit bad guy...

It sucks that we will just have to wait and see... It might be another year and a half before we see another Batman movie...
