Holiday Gift Ideas

New member
I am having trouble(s) this year. Normally, I have been pretty good with the whole "what to get teh girlfriend" question. However, it has been a copule of years since I had anyone who meant anything to me over teh holidays, and I am going to do what I can to put my best foot forward.

To give an example of what past gifts include, I once dated a woman with a young son for whom I hand-painted a tea for two set with a picture of a little boy flying a kite in a field of flowers. Yah, a LOT of effort, but oh, the payoff.

I am at a loss this year however. A lot of people would just opt for the most expensive gift they could afford, but that is not my style. Besides, she is from a wealthy family and will be getting plenty of expensive gifts already.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

I think there has been a few threads on what people are giving, I'm too lazy to search for the thread though. Do a lot of various things. Get her a stocking with her name on it that you can hang up at your house/place along with yours. Fill it Christmas Eve with nice small gifts, like perfume, chocalate, jewelry, her favorite candy, dvd's, cd's, anything like that so she can go through it in the morning, that is if you are staying together, or in the afternoon. Leather jacket, bathrobe, boots or shoes, athletic gear if she is in to working out, can't go wrong with ear rings or a diamond tennis bracelet. It all depends on your budget and what you want to spend. I personally like to attend Christmas "events" with my significant other too. Going to see the Nutcracker and the KC Symphony's Xmas show this year. I totally enjoy partaking in the Christmas spirit though. Do fun things, make Xmas cookies together, or if you know she has had a long day, invite her over, draw her a warm bubble bath and make her hot chocalate and stir it with a peppermint candy cane. Give her early Xmas gifts, like an ornament for the tree, or put a Xmas tree up together. The memories are the things that are truly special and will last. I'm kind of a hopeless romantic though and that type of shit seems to work well for me along with a nice selection of gifts!

My girl has EVERYTHING...tech stuff, you name it. I am at a loss.

I was thinking of an event gift...limo ride to Spago for a late lunch then off to the theatre for a play. Yah, yah, yah. But that isn't my kind of thing, and wouldn't appear to be genuine. I'm working on it.

Get her a scorpion vibrator. The gift that keeps on giving.....

Wodin gives great gift's....

You talking about Spago's in LA?

How about a trip up to Napa Valley? Ballon ride over the vineyard's? Private wine tasting tour?

Chicago actually...

There are a couple of places that would be appropriate for Christmas lunch, Spago is right up her alley though.

Now, she already saw Sweeney Todd, but the only other production of interest in Wagner's Die Walkurie (not exactly Christmas like)

Far from easy too...:)

Sounds like you know her tastes, Moe.

Ever think about NYC? Broadway would be something she'd enjoy..Actually... OFF broadway can be just as fantastic!

Well, much of my limited budget is already going toward our New Years jaunt to either Las Vegas or San Francisco (we haven't decided yet). I hate to hold back financially, but facts are facts...a trip to NYC is NOT in the cards. A good idea though.
