Some of us collected baseball cards, and stamps, I'm a comicbook collector/reader and will stay that way most likely.

HM...whats the latest deal on a 2000 W Silver Eagle? The only one I dont have
eBay fags are selling who knows what for $1200 (I just checked).
I want one![]()
HumorMe said:Depends on the grading of the coin. They only made the W mint mark in 1995, 2001-2005.
Perfect grade of PR70DCAM will cost you a ton. Somewhere in the neighborhood of $450-$550. A 1995 W will cost you a second mortgage.
2001-2005 W in PR69DCAM you can pick up pretty cheap. 2000-P is about the same price as the 2001-2005 W.

jack_schitt said:Maybe I was thinking of the W in 1995..I think I may have the '95 P, but I'm not home at the moment to pull out the collection and take a look. Some of those coins I got from my Dad when he passed on. I have alot of old Buffalo Nickels, proof sets that I haven't even opened, and tons of rolled mercury dimes. I have some coins from the 1800's that are almost unrecognizable they are so worn out. Kinda cool though, not worth a shit, but they may have been in Wyatt Earps pocket at one time or another...who knows.
HumorMe said:The 1995-P is worth more than the other dated P's since they have been making them except the 1994-P. The 1993-P is a little cheaper but not much. Nice coins to have in a collection either way.
I have been wanting to start a set of those but I have my eyes mostly on Morgan dollars and Roosevelt dimes.
I just bought a 1960 Proof Double Bie Obverse dime tonight. If it grades out like I am hoping it will, could be worth a lot of money but judging from the pictures I have seen, it could grade a point below what I am hoping. Somewhere in the nieghborhood of $800-$2000.
jack_schitt said:Keep me abreast if you would mang...I would be interested to get into coin collecting as a part time hobby. I looked into it a little bit, but have alot more to learn yet.
HumorMe said:Takes a lot of time to learn this stuff. I have been interested in coins since my grandfather handed me a bunch of old coins when i was a kid. Probably 35-38 years ago and I have been hooked ever since. I still have those coins but they are mostly just junk silver but they are a keepsake for me since he passed away in 1974.
People are crazy spending on eBay now since gold and silver are up. They'll buy anything these days.
I'm real selective on what I buy and usually buy just graded stuff but I am finding some good deals on raw coins and if I buy them and look at them in person and don't like them, I will put them back on eBay for some other person to buy them.
jack_schitt said:I looked into some of the different types of grades...kind of a fine line if you ask me, even with a 5x glass, but I don't know any more than the guy down the street. It's interesting though.
I'll PM you a pic of my Silver Eagles when I get back home...it's a nice collection, even if you were someone who didn't appreciate coins all that much.
HumorMe said:It's a very fine line. Sometimes I think it depends on how the grader feels at the time he is grading the coin. It is real subjective.
I would love to see them. Let me know.
