It's a personal choice. If all your Drs. are in the cheaper one, go for it. People generally want more choices to see their own Drs. If they are already in the plan's choices, then you shouldn't have to pay extra to see them.

+1 PPO was always the way to go with me. My hubby held the insurance when he was working corporate. Now that he is not I had to switch to HMO and get it through my company and it sucks! My company doesn't contribute enough and PPO is way too expensive for family every month.
PPO plans generally cover more issues as well as have a larger network of doctors
HMO's generally cost less due to the items above
