same thing here. Every year a good batch of them comes here to work in the apple/strawberry fields. You hear the same moronic people criticizing this practice, but none of them would accept such job. They think its too messy.....

I don't know how it is across the country, but here in Arizona... as the bo-cephus said... they have the jobs none of the white folk, or even black folk want.

They mow our yards and shit like that.

They cook our food in the back of the restaurant... sweating their balls off over an open grill making shit, while the white people are in the front of the restaurant, air conditioned, not working so hard, and making a lot more dough.

If they are here, doing good, LEARNING OUR LANGUAGE, then I have no problem with them being here either.

I agree. The mexican immigrants I worked with at KFC were the hardest workers.

Most of them are very hard workers, most. And I agree with the opinion of all, they will do work no one else wants to do, not bitch just hump it. Plus it's not like America has such a high unemployment rate, those that are not working do so by choice, they are above certain task.

There was actually a very intelligent 3 part article in Rollingstone about a month back on this issue (#'s 891, 892, & 893). I won't go into all of the issues that the present but was an interesting perspective. One surprising thing that they mentioned is that many of the Mexicans that jump the border to come to the US to work actually have no desire to become citizens. They come to work for 4 or 5 years, send money home, then go back and work on the farm, etc. Was an interesting point that I wasn't aware of.

I grew up in that apple industry in southern quebec off highway 87(NY)/highway 15(Quebec) that Manny taled about above and lemme tell you the migrating workers are among the hardest working in North America.

I have many customers from many different backgrounds who came here with fuck all in pocket and tons of education who worke in jobs like taxi, etc..

Well half these people are here like 5-10 years later, have businesses and are driving mercedes etc and are wealthy.

My point is this. Gnerations from all backgrounds that have been here from day 1 till 200 years ago are still bitching that they dont get treated fairly yadayadayada and dont get anywhere.

yet people who come from other countries who want something for themselves(canada does have a fucked up immigration philosophy though but that is a minority who are a pain0 find hate here and bigots yet still go on to be successful.

So what is everyone else who bitches excuse?

What I think is in general is that North American society in general is too lax with social programs(ie health care, welfare etc) and if you tell enough fuckers whether thir ancestors have been here a week or 200 years that enough is enough get off your ass alot more people would do better for themselves.

If not I say ship them out to the middle of the ocean and drown the fuckers. Sounds cold but they are useless fuck em. BTW that goes for fat ugly whiite trailer trash jerry springer type guests too.

a lot of the hispanics, not only mexicans that I have day to day encounters with work their asses off. And as many of you said they do the jobs that nobody else wants to do and grin and bear it.

At least where I live, where there is a good size population of hispanics, both legal and illegal, I don't see any of them begging on the street. As for blacks and whites begging on the street...... well that's a different topic.

I have uncles who emply Hispanics at their dairies. They, for the most part, are very dependable and hard working. Now, having said that---I grew up roofing with my dad and we never worked with a mexican that could outwork us. I dont have nothing againts them--matter of fact, many of the illegals that i have had experiences with are very respectfull and not looking for trouble.

I just ask that they learn the language--speak it in public, and get legal---quick as possible.

Its like everyone else here said. They take the thankless shit jobs no one else will do. They are very hard working people and they will work for practically nothing. They do need to learn English, but you really can´t expect the parent to teach it to them, not if you want them to be fluent. Can you imagine moving to Spain and all of a sudden just speaking Spanish to your 5 or 6 or10 year old or whatever? It would be ridiculous. And he would be speaking a not so correct version.

Two seperate issues. Public school policy toward non
English speakers and speaking English with non native speaking parents. In the end, you can´t learn it from your parents when you both moved to the US at the same time!

TV is actually a great way to learn along with friends and magazines.

Im talking about when the parents have been here for awhile, have kids(for free I might add)then don't/won't teach them whatever english they know.
