Hip Flexor Pain: Running

My hip flexor gets sore as hell when I sit or lay down for extended periods. Stiff too. Been training for a half marathon that's a month away and everything feels great except for this soreness. Once I get walking a few minutes it completely goes away. Should I be stretching it, icing it, etc? I've been feeling it now for about a week.

I went through physical therapy for my knee and it turned out I had weak hip flexors, so did a ton of exercises for them and stretches

some of the physical therapy for it can seem like flimsy exercise but I promise its not
and at the time I was running 4 miles a day (jogging really, 8 min mile pace) 5 days a week and had been for a yr so it wasnt like I wasnt fit...
 
Sound like some soft tissue over use injury...kinda like tendonitis of the psoas muscle..hip flexor. Ice. I would not stretch it though...and NEVER after ice. Foam roller to roll it out. If you know a chiropractor that does ART..this works great with softtissue injuries. ICE!
