High Protein, low Carb Diet

Ive done the diet before with good results, but what do you all think is the minimum amount of time it takes to actually kick in, and then the max you can be on it without having any adverse effects. MY thinking is that it takes about 2 weeks to really kick in and your body to adjust to the low carbs (under 20 a day 5 days a week, under 50 a day, 2 days), and then the max you can really be on it and still be effective is maybe 3 months.
And the minimum protein intake being about 160 grams for a 215pounder.

Does that sound about right to you all?

I have never done low carb without going into ketosis. Sounds like you will get there with the under 20 per day for 5 days. If that is the case, and you're a bodybuilding sort and don't want to lose much muscle, you'd be so much beter off just following mr.x's ckd manual. The carbup and workout regimen is in favor of keeping muscle.

My only problem with the CKD diet is that I dont have enough financial resources to buy all the aids and supplements. As of now I do cardio about 1.5 hours 3 days a week, 30-60 minutes 2 days a week and weight train about 4 days a week. Im supplementing with Omega3 Oil capsures every morning and evening, multivitamen, glutamine and green tea, as well as ECA, eating high protein, carbs about 150 a day. I am not going to cut down on carbs as it seems I am starting to gain weight (possible muscle), but want to drop about 10lbs in a month or so.

you dont need to buy anything more on a ckd than you will with any other keto diet. Only difference is that one day is a carbup. Fatty foods are cheap anyway and so are carby foods :D

Fatty foods cheap my ass... 48c candy bars is how I got to be 250 24% bodyfat about Dec of last year, but now I am at 212 13% bodyfat, just want to get down to single digits now... thanks everyone for the feedback.

Now I just have to get motivated and have willpower to stay on the High protein diet, keeping carbs under 50g a day
