High Protein, High Fat, Low Carbs

Anyone have an opinion of the atkins diet.
i think the idea is eat lots of protein and some fats but cut carbs dwn to nuthin or very little.
I was wondering if this is any good for gaining muscle while keeping fat gain to a minimum. any opinions welcome

The question is a bit vague, but overall it's NOT a good diet for gaining muscle. You're missing the most important component: INSULIN. W/o carbohydrates, insulin response if very low-or non existant-thus, you will NOT see muscle gains while doing no/low carb. The refeed on the CKD is the only time ANABOLISM will be a factor.

so when would be the best time to consume carbs, ie when would you get the least fat gain.
before or after w/o or in morn ??
 
Well, you are going to gain fat when on a mass building program. But as for what will put on the least amount of fat, I would say have the carbs before yoru workout. This way you will be able to workout harder, and you will burn off the majority of the carbs you put in. After your workout you would be using the carbs to replenish muscle and they woln't be burned off as much. All in all, don't worry about putting on some fat, your trying to build muscle, you can focus on shredding that fat when you cut up.

Least fat gain is in the AM, if you're bulking up then I would recommend morning carbs, then post-workout carbs.
