high fiber diet

Fruits, vegetables and unprocessed grains are the foods naturally highest in fiber. Here are some examples -


  • Avocados. Fiber: 6.7 grams per half, raw. ...
  • Pears. Fiber: 5.5 grams per medium fruit, raw. ...
  • Pearled barley. Fiber: 6 grams per cup, cooked. ...
  • Oatmeal. Fiber: 4 grams per cup, cooked.

  • Broccoli, high in fiber
  • Dried beans, peas
  • Fresh green peas
  • Dried fruit, topped, apricots and dates
  • Oats, buckwheat are all high in fiber.
  • Strawberries, Blackberries and Raspberries
  • Pole beans, Green snap beans and broad beans
  • Apples, pears and plums
  • Nuts (specially almonds, peanuts, and walnuts).
  • Bananas, Cherries, Carrots, coconut high in fiber
