High Cholesterol

The dude I train with was asking me what foods are gonna put some mass on him. He's a hard gainer.
Putting a shopping list together for him, he points out a few which can't be included because he has high cholesterol.
This included nuts and eggs!
What else should I not recommend to the poor bro!?!
 
egg whites, lean chicken breast, pork tenderloin, beef sirloin (this lean beef can actually help to lower your LDL cholesterol levels)

no sea food!

food cholesterol has very little effect on blood cholesterol (the one that causes hypertension, heart problems,...)

Your friend has absolutely no reason to avoid nuts
Nuts are rich in omega 3s which lower blood cholesterol

He also needs fiber

He needs fish oil, flax seed oil but he MUST avoid saturated fats, trans fats, hydrogenated fats and high GI carbs !
 
Thats more or less what i thought. I don't know if he'll swallow it though. He was told to avoid nuts and avocados, etc by his own doctor!
 
doctors are not nutritionists and as a result, are not up to date on the most recent studies in fields outside of their own. Doctors still think a "low fat" diet is key to lowering blood cholesterol... w/e If it makes people feel better then w/e... soluble fiber is key. Make sure he has a high intake of SOLUBLE fiber and adequate omega 3/6 FA's.... he should see a significant decrease in ldl if he sticks w/ that
