Hi! Kinda New Here

I've been lurking on this board for quite some time and figured it was about time I posted something. I found this place a while back and thought it had some of the best information (especially for the womenz!) out there. The logs are impressive, and although I have a private one, I've never been one to post anything. This is a leap!

Anyway, I grew up around bodybuilding all my life. My brother recently made the decision to have a family instead of going pro, and I remember hanging out with him when I was 8 years old (I'm 29 now), asking him about bench presses and dead lifts, etc., looking at pics of Tom Platz (his inspiration) and Cory Everson.

Anyway, before my question, here are my stats:

Height 5'2"
Weight 113ish (110-115, water loves me) Size 0/2
Bodyfat around 12% (I haven't been measured in a while but I know my body and I'd say this is a good estimate)

Diet (example, it can vary)

Meal 1: 1c old fashioned oats w/splenda and cinnamon made with water (sometimes protein powder added if I can stomach that), 1 whole egg and 2 whites

Meal 2: Ezekiel bread, egg whites, maybe small amount of fruit

Meal 3: 4-6 oz chicken or lean meat, 1c (or more) veggies

Meal 4: can tuna, 1c (or more) veggies or salad w/ 1/2 tbsp ff dressing

Meal 5: 4-6oz chic or lean meat, veggies, small red potato w/1tsp ff sour cream

Meal 6: protein shake w/skim milk or 1tbsp ANPB

I use fitday and tend to keep my macros around 40p/30c/30f (or 40/40/20 because I want to marry carbs).

Workout is cardio HIIT 3-4 times a week, heavy weight training 4 times a week (not as heavy lately because of a recent car accident... bleh).

Ok so, to keep a long story short (too late!) here's my question:

I don't take any supps. My body is VERY PICKY about what I put into it (that sounds kinda bad). I mean if the bottle says "1 in 1 bazillion people will experience an extra head sprouting from their hip" I will be that 1 person... But OF COURSE I see all the hype about anafit's products and Levorex, Glucorell and YES (especially) turn me on. It seems the only place I'm carrying any unwanted fat is that tiny spot on the lower abs and the dreaded hip/back fat. I have taken TRex and thought it was a good product but I simply cannot stand the stimulant. I would like to try them but am honestly worried that if my body gets used to them and I suddenly can't afford to purchase them anymore, will the backlash of NOT having them in my system have a detrimental or almost a reverse effect?

Thanks in advance for your help! Hell, this is a long post. I guess when I finally start talking I talk a lot! ;)

Hey girl! Sounds like you are on the right track :) THANK YOU for posting up! I was once just like you, sans log though, just afraid to post.. how bout that lol?? :)

Sorry about the car accident .. hope you are ok :rose:

Your diet looks clean, but you can always clean it up MORE to get to that next level, weed some things out, throw in a carb rotation, and start there to see if you can get the 'fat' to move...
When was the last time you changed things up? Maybe your body need something new or a change to get things moving again :)

About the supps... I hear you on the T-Rex ... The CB would be a better option for you AFTER you made the changes to your diet (if necessary) ... It's like T'Rex's baby :) I think the YES WOULD help you based on your specific issues above ... The levorex is a GREAT health supp as well as NON STIM caffeine free fat burner ... all three are worth the money IF you decide to make a purchase.

Best of luck girl! & thanks for posting, hope to see you around more ;)

WELCOME, JUJU!!!!!! :twirl:

Your diet looks good - macro's look good. Are you eating enough? I'm assuming you are, but didn't give a calorie count.

If you can't handle the stimulant in T-Rex, maybe take a step down to Cardio Breeze. It's lighter and easier on your stomach, too. I don't think you would have any adverse effects if you take stims and then stop. There are a lot of people who cycle on and off them.

So what does your training schedule look like?

....again, WELCOME!
:)

^^ To elaborate ...When you stop using supps (i.e. AF store supps) your body returns to the same state it was in when you started. So it doesn't make it any harder to lose fat when you stop than it was before you started.

Hey ladies! Thanks for the responses. I *think* I'm eating enough (approx 1200 cals/day). I used to fight the good fight with anorexia so watching what I eat but still allowing myself an indulgence from time to time is like therapy. If I do need to eat more, then, I dunno. Sure would be nice to add a white chocolate mocha in the mix. That'll add cals! :p

Training I mix up a bit as I get bored so easily. AM/empty stomach cardio is something I try to do, but with my family schedule I usually end up doing cardio in the evenings after lifting (or by itself on a lighter day). I didn't notice my body responding very differently to AM cardio when I was able to do it more often, but I do find it responds to just mixing things up a lot. Weights are, for example, legs, chest/bi/abs, rest, back/tri, shoulders/abs, rest, wash/rinse/repeat. But, like I said, I mix things up and try to listen to my body. So when it says "OW!" or "You wuss you can do more... sissy" then I listen.

Didn't really consider the cardio breeze. That's a possibility!

Oh yeah. Forgot about water. Usually 5 liters/day. I lost this fat last summer but honestly, I don't know how. It was just gone one morning. Then miraculously around Thanksgiving/Christmas it came back. Imagine that. Oh well, easy come, easy go!

Welcome Juju!

You might also want to look at levorex as it is a nonstim, but it does raise your bodytemp and works very well.

BTW, Trex is strong for me and I am a 200lbs male who is sens to Yohimbine HCL.

Again, welcome.

1200 cals is good. Don't fall below 1100 though. If you do, you may stall your progress.

How much cardio per day....do you lift to failure?

30mins cardio, but again this is give or take. If I do steady state I may do a bit more. If I'm doing HIIT then usually 5 min warm up/cool down with around 10 cycles (a cycle being 60 secs intense/60 secs recover). So that totals arond 30 mins. I do lift to failure, but lately I can't do quite as much because of the accident. Getting better though.

I try not to fall below 1100 per day, however, I'm a full time student and the trek across campus and crazy schedules (plus my schedule is at the mercy of my son and husband which causes it to change even more) I have the greatest difficulty eating on time. I usually pull it off but it can be a challenge.

Thanks for the help :) I think I've decided to get some YES, and maybe the levorex since you don't have to take so many/day now. We'll see!

Hi Que and Krissy :) I've been fine, thanks for asking. I strained my left shoulder (the one that was hurt in the accident) earlier this week so I've been ordered to take it extra easy so it can heal properly. I didn't think I'd be one of those people who had a hard time taking doc's advice, but apparently I'm AM one of those people. I had several conversations with myself where I had to talk myself out of exercise lol. Been keeping the diet in check though, so no problems.

Funny thing though, my husband ordered some TRex a few months ago and that's when I tried it and decided that it had too much of a stimulant for me. Well, a few days after I posted this I noticed he had some left so I tried it again. It was great! The stim was actually very mild and I found that (so far) I don't have to take much to get the effects I want. I know this will probably change when I become used to it, but that's what cycling is for. ANyway, I ordered some of that and some YES and I guess I'll see how those work on me. But just like I said, my body is SO PICKY about those things that it can't even make up its own mind. I'll just do what's good for the time being and when its no longer good I'll change.

Sorry to hear about your shoulder, hope it gets better soon. :bigkiss:
Can you still go for walks and work the lower body or is that a no-no per the doctor? Regardless: DO WHAT THE DOCTOR SAYS! :velvett:

If you can't workout you can always hang around EF and use the whip on the rest of us slackers ;)

Yeehaw for being able to use the T-rex! I've heard great things about that one. My body doesn't like stims either, they make me jittery, short of breath, etc. etc. so I have to be careful about what I spend my money on. It's sooooooo hard to choose these days and right now I'm having a "lack of energy" issue.

and remember: DO WHAT THE DOCTOR SAYS! :velvett:

Hey Juju - welcome! I've found if I go back & give a stim another shot it works better.

Just a thought on your stubborn fat -- wondered if stress is a factor -- even the best diet & training can get stalled out if the stress level your body has to deal w/ is a little on the high side. Sounds like you are a very busy lady. But definitely right on track. If you are 12% now, that's certainly nothing to sniff at. I might also venture that time (age) has a way of adding new challenges. So just throwing out some things to consider. There are so many factors around getting "the ultimate body" while still getting all the demands of life met.

Definitely look forward to your progress thru your shoulder recovery - what a pain eh?

Hey there :) Thanks for checking in. I haven't been around as much SINCE I posted as I was BEFORE I posted. A little backwards... Anyway, I was taken off all lifting and moderate+ cardio for 1-2 weeks and of course now the laziness has taken over me. However, I ordered some T-Rex and YES and I must say the T-Rex has really helped me, even moreso than I expected it to especially considering I've been on a forced hiatus. Haven't really used the YES yet but I'm sure I'll like it. I don't know what the BF is now but the clothes are looser and I'm feeling tighter. Maybe what I needed was rest.

Sassy I think that stress is a HUGE factor with me and probably one that I don't care to admit. I have about 5 weeks off from school after this week and after that the stress level will skyrocket. Oh well, for the next 5 weeks I'm not even going to think of school. Hell I may not even have 1 intelligent thought during that time!

BTW the little pad of fat on the lower abs is called a F.U.P.A. : fat upper pussy area :chomp: I have one ...it's on my wife :p
I cannot believe someone went there!!!! Horrible... Yes I've heard that before but geez

Ah yeah well, Neitszche says the rants of the lower class are pointless.

I never did mind the little things. Except, of course, for the little pad of fat on my lower abs... No biggie
