Hey You Guys!

My bench press is stuck. Give me some new ideas for training chest. Or just new training ideas in general would be good too, need to change it up and I'm open to ideas. I was thinking of starting my chest workout with incline flies maybe, never done that before. Might put some mass on there. I also just wanted to say that ice skating is for homos. Penis.

I always start my chest routine with an incline movement......it's done wonders for the overall shape......nice and thick up top now....

Right on bro! drop the flat bench and just do some inclines and some floor press if ya want. Inclines are best 1st!

i've added 50lbs to my bench in 2months... i run incline, decline and flat pyramids every monday... that means I bench once a week, i do

15 rep warmup
10 rep
8 rep
6 rep
4 rep
3 rep
2 rep
1 rep (last rep is at 90% of my bench max)

i add 10 pounds each go until i get to 1 rep

sometimes i'll keep pushing 1 reps until I max out, depending on how pumped i feel

If you are interested in increasing your bench then floor press and dynamic bench is the way to go. :)

Which would be...?

Here's a quote from myself from casavant's thread:

Yea, most training styles I see in gyms is bodybuilding style, but I haven't really been into any PL style gyms.

Like if you wanna improve your bench, this is what some powerlifters would do:

1. Work on board press/floor press, which is essentially the top portion of the movement. They use different types of boards to target different types of the movement. So if your bench is failling on top of the movement, you do assisted work for just that.

2. Speed work, which essentially helps you move the bar much faster. The faster you move it the easier it will be.

3. Forgot the isolation crap. Fly's never made anyone strong.

4. Also usually do 1-3rep maxes. Really pointless to go above the 3rep max limit ...

5. PL bench form is different from BB bench form. In PL, it's mostly the triceps doing the work.

There is a good sticky on WSB in the training board. :) I started training similar to this the last 4weeks and I feel like I am juiced to the core, but all I am doing is eating and lifting ...

Here's a very good article on the subject:

That thread and this link will explain everything you need to know on the matter. :)
