I used to wonder if I would have joined the SS or have become a traditional Werhmacht officer had I come of age in the late 1930's in Germany.My grandfather was an old school Prussian officer but knowing my rebellious streak I probably would have gone with the SS. Yes, I would have easily passed the racial purity tests.

I need to scan some of the pictures of my wife's family. She has pictures and everything else from her family from WWII. When I have some time I will post some of the stories her grandmother told me. Both of her grandfathers died on the Eastern front.

My grandfather fought in the battle of the bulge and committed suicide when he got home.

My other grandfather fought in Korea and WWII. They were going to put him in jail if he didn't go to Korea. he was caught with an illegal moonshine still. LOL.
