I have a question for you....

A few days ago a bro posted here asking where in the hell the post on internet privacy went. Well some others and I made some very important points in the new thread. So why in Christ's name have you stowed it away in the platinum section???? That's fucking absurd!!!! There are enough good bros going down right now that this thread should have been made a sticky, not reserved only for the few who are willing to pay spellwin for "how to get laid" manuals and other worthless garbage.
Most of the stickys are concerned with topics of great interest to newbies. Well computer security and privacy is (or should be) of great concern to all of you, especially in today's climate of politcal self-righteousness.

You know, in genaral I tend to defend George and the Mods, but I must agree with this guy on this one.

This just does not seem right, ... if people start a thread and contribute to it, and make it very informative and valuable, with many people adding contributions .... and THEN it is "taken away" from many of these SAME people that contributed ....?

That just does not seem right.

I understand that maybe the "Written Dissertaion" posts (like when someone who is a Mod or a platinum member starts a thread with a long and informative post ... many of these end up becoming stickies) may be different. These tend to be started by full members or Mods, and I can see how these would or maybe even should be transferred to the "platinum" section.

But again, to take a thread which has become informative ue to the contributions of many people, and to take it away from those people, so that in many cases people cannot even see WHAT THEY THEMSELVES WROTE, just seems wrong.

I support George, the fact that this board IS primarly a business (and many guys need to wake up and realize that when whining) but somehow this situation just seems to not be "right".

Taking the best info off this board and putting it on the plat board is rather unfair- especially when most of the informative posts on the thread were made by non-plats.

Seems like we're being pressured to become platinum...

You people have to understand something, we remove things for a reason. The information in that post, while it may have helped you, could also hurt you in many ways. If you cant understand that, look harder at it.

We do things to protect our members. Personally, I removed the sticky on it and deleted it a while the first few times it was up. Think about what it was about.....its common sense to keep that kinda shit out of the hands of certain people.

I just checked the PLAT boards and it wasnt there. If you have a link give it to me. As far as I know that is clear off our boards as it should be.

While I am at it, let me point some more things out:

Source Check posts are not allowed
Price Check posts are not allowed

A source post can also be a source for Fina kits and such.

PEOPLE in light of recent events use your head. This is a public board, and the MODS here do everything we can to help. You bitch when we take something down that can very well save your ass. Trust me, things like these need to stay off our boards.

OK, removing things is different, I stand corrected.

I might make a case that the info was not wprthy of the post being deleted, but that is quite different from just "hding" info from many of the same Bros that contributed it.
