I was pretty young when I started, we're all a little crazy at first.
It didn't take long to realize that I wasn't there to belittle anyone, just to indoctrinate them into a different system than they were used to. Our main job was to teach the recruits the skills they needed to shoot, move, and communicate. Everyone has a different style of motivating people. Leadership is basically the ability to get people to do what you want or need them to do. My leadership style has certainly changed over the years. That doesn't mean I never stuck the brim of my hat on the bridge of a young punks nose, though.
I've seen everything from grunge to punk to gangbanger to couch potato to computer geeks. It's amazing that we can even put together an army anymore.
The kids I have in my unit here are pretty hard core, though. I guess when it's for real, they know the deal!

Longarms - That must be incredible to have internet access over there. When I was in Saudi Arabia in 1991 we were isolated. I did manage to bring a tiny tv/vcr combo over there with me. We watched Godfather so many times.
