Roughly six years ago or so, my wife's (then fiance) sister was in an abusive relationship. It was the ugliest thing I have ever witnessed (between a woman and a man). For whatever reason she stayed......time after time....she hung around. My brother-in-law beat the dude senseless...her father had him arrested 3 different times........it was a regular epsiode of "Cops" around their house (except their house wasn't on wheels, and there were two $100k Benz'z parked in the driveway)

Anyway it went on for three years or so, then one day he was coming home from a Cardinals game, drunk as hell, and flipped his convertible doing 80. He's not bothering her anymore.
