He would be getting a lot more from the government, plus cost of legal work, if he wasn't compensated with this money and the apology.

And that is not it. He is sueing the US government for 100s of millions of dollars. That day i am sure is coming, when US have to legally pay him that money, and that day, i would be laughing my ass off, and i would bump this thread. So much for these yanks labelling us as wussies, when they committed this injustice on the first place, and are seemingly proud of it!

Maybe everybody in this forum is too naive to rewrite the entire consititution of US or Canada, but next time, an innocent man is deported and tortured for two years, you know what is coming.
