Registered last night. I have not yet gotten into getting any gear, but am doing research and studying for possible future usage.

Odd thing happened though. I had been registered for maybe 15 minutes. I obviously hadn't posted yet... but i get an email from a gent offering to sell me some surplus gear he got from Tiajuana.

Now i know we dont ask for sources around here...but i would like to confirm who this guy is? I am going with my gut and guessing it is a scam because i can't imagine legit sources just sending out emails to new guys offering to sell cheap gear. soundslike a scam to me.

The email was sent from the address *********... and called himself ****** accordingly. Any info on this one?

If I were you I would disregard that email and stick around the board. You will get your sources if you play your cards right. A lot of sammers prey on new people.

Welcome aboard, I took the liberty of editing your message since we dont post source info here. Chances are very likely though he is just looking to scam you. If you have a question about a source, e-mail(secure mail prefered) a few mods and see if you can get some feedback. Keep in mind good sources dont need to troll for business, they have plenty.

Sorry about posting the name. Yeah. Thats pretty much how i figured it. I didnt think a good source would be trolling for customers...let alone a new guy.

I am nowhere near ready for gear. I wanna get some more time in on my own test and do the research first. Thanks all!
