herniated disk in L5..:'( how should i werk out?

i have a hernated disk in my L5.. and i havent been to the gym since nov.. i wanna go back . any ideas or any excerises that i can do to strengthing that part of myback?:insane:
 
Go see a "Neurologist".......FAST!!!!!.......My hubby just had his L-5 worked on. Bottom line: GET IT DONE BEFORE IT GETS WORSE!!!!

I fractured one of the lower lumbars right above my ass ??? (i dont know if this is close to your ailment???) when i fell 20ft out of a tree stand. The doc told me to stay out of the gym for 3 months but i was mid-cycle, so to make a long story short 3 weeks later i was in the gym but i was taking it very easy sticking to light wieghts and only workouts that kept pressure off my back, ie tricep extensions, calf raises. Exercises composed of lifts like that kept me from going insane while i recovered. I dont know if this helps too much but just thought i would share...
