For the same reason they make you wear white socks for gym class. [You wear white socks so that if your develop a blister during the class, the dye won’t make it worse or get it infected.]

The dyes in the clothing can be too harsh on some people’s genitalia - even though the underwear might be neon pink [WODIN] - the gish pad or cooch area is white to prevent the sensitive areas from being exposed to the dye.

You've got a belt at the top of the zipper, and about 3-4 inces of zipper to deal with.
You got to reach in there, grab your works and not get the boys scaped on the zipper (Ouch!)
