It isn't edited or posted yet. I'd like to hear any of your thoughts on it. Things I could change etc..
Not grammatical type things as melohh does all that stuff for me.I also am going to add something at the end promoting an upcoming party I am throwing at a club etc.. Anything that sounds stupid feel free to make fun, but only if you really don't like it.Should I format it differently? Thanks!
"To VIP? Or not to VIP?
Is the VIP the place to be? Or is it just a waste of space.
What is the VIP? The VIP (an acronym we all know) is the place in a club where you have bottle service, your own table, and a place to sit. These VIP areas could be in big clubs or small clubs. They are usually guarded by bouncers and you either get a bracelet or a stamp to show that you are part of the VIP. The area usually includes chairs, booths, or couches accompanied with a table. On top of the table is a bucket with ice, the alcohol of your choice (usually Grey Goose), cranberry juice, and orange juice. VIP areas can be in different areas of a club, whether upstairs or downstairs it doesn't matter.Nicer clubs will decorate these areas, while others will just change a place that was an open seating area and turn it into a "VIP" area. Some smaller clubs will make any seating area a bottle service/VIP area.
What is their purpose?
Enough about what they look like, why are there VIP areas and why does it seem the VIP area seems to grow larger every time we go out to a club? For one thing you need a divided section for for private parties and events so that the members of these parties have their own area. It's nice to have
a meeting place when you are with a large group of people. Everyone has lost a friend at a large club at sometime in their life. You also have people who are obsessed with status. People want to act like
big shots, "Let's get a table!" To many people showing up in a Limo with some "Bling" and getting a table is how they show off to the world who they are. The reason many men do this is because of
some womens obsession with being in VIP areas. In essence, it is just a way for guys to try and get chicks. In general we all do want to get in privileged positions/places at some point in our life so we can at the very least see what the big deal is all about.
VIP areas come down to Economics:
Clubs have different manuevers in order to help build their profits and VIP areas are one area they look to further monetize their club. Because when it comes down to it this is a business and money talks. Whether a club is purposely keeping the line long or obstructing your view inside there is a reason behind these decisions. Keeping the line long boosts their bottle service/VIP areas because even if you do think the VIP area is totally overrated, who the hell wants to wait on that long ass line! Ever get that feeling like the VIP areas are growing?
You would be correct. Nowwadays when clubs re-open under a new name with renovations the only thing you will see different are new and expanded VIP areas. This is also evident at sports arena's where luxury boxes dominate the new stadiums pricing out the real fans replacing them with guys in suits. These two scenarios are quite analogous with very similar implications on each. The club owners just need not get too greedy and understand the party from a clubgoers perception or their clubs will lose popularity.
A Final Rant on the VIP
So here is my beef with many VIP sections. Many VIP areas now are just a place to sit. I have been to clubs where the "VIP" section takes up most of the club and 80% of those VIP areas are totally empty. Having a seat at a club should not be considered a luxury item! What's next meters where you put quarters into it for the privilege of sitting for one minute. It's not surprising that club anthems like Oscar G's "Fuck the VIP" are so popular. Because of BS like I just stated and the fake people who often populate it.At the sametime I have had a few really good times hanging in the VIP. But the real VIP areas to me in a club are when you are on the dancefloor with some good friends or in the DJ booth watching your friend throw down some crazy beats."
