this is the generic chemical. this is kind of lotion used by women with pain in the legs cause by circulation problems. i hit my calves the other day too hard and the day after i could not even walk. my mother told me to use this since she suffers from that problem. the pain went way fast. i hope it works for all of you.

I know english your second language but Heparin is an injectable product-not a lotion that is applied on the skin. BTW stop taking advice from your mom before it puts you in the hospital or worse, in the morgue.

actually there is a "Heparine" Sodium Injection, USP made by APP Inc. Also this is how Heparin is spelled in Europe. Heparin is an anticoagulant and works by inhibiting certain clotting factors in the clotting cascade. I do know that in foreign countries there is a topical heparin used for pruritis and leg ulcers, because haparin is also known to have anti-inflammatory, and antiatherosclerotic properties. But, like SF said, not wise to use it just cuz your mom does. Even though chances of systemic absorption are probably minimal(depending on carrier solvent), I would see no role of an anticoagulant being utilized for muscle soreness.
