I saw his "spoken word" at William Paterson University in Wayne NJ back in 95...I got his autograph on the back of my ticket stub and on my hat. I waited with one other dude to see him and it was raining out. He had a bottle of water in his hand and a bunch of bananas...he took a cab back to the hotel...he is a pretty humble guy these days.

I am not sure why he signed it HR only...maybe it was because he wanted to go home or get out of the rain. lol

You got good taste man. I have heard alot of his spoken word stuff. Good stuff. But he is a very misunderstood person, alot of people consider him an ass.

His last two c.d.'s kinda sucked though, I liked the Henry Rollins Band with End of Silence, Wieght, and Come in and burn.

He has said that he did not like Howard Stern but at the end of sterns show he said he liked him. My question is this: Why would he go on a show that he did not like the person---Total hippocrite in IMOP---For someone who "TELLS IT LIKE IT IS" he backed down to the mighty stern. I thought he would have been all over stern but just not the case.

As for the music.. I liked his Flag days the best. But I really only like Lifetime and Turned On.. Weight is OK, but the other ones are not soo great. Now I hhave read all of his books... they are kind of like a bible for the depressed. When you are depressed or distressed.... read some of his work... GREAT STUFF.

I do not agree with 100% of his stuff.. but all in all, I think he is above and beyond most entertainers out there.

I heard him that day on Stern. He makes a lot of sense sometimes and sounds like an ass the other times. I think he did his best work with Black Flag. After that there's only a few songs of his I like.

Rollins Band=suck ass..........Henry Rollins=one cool mother fucker. I've seen the guy 3 times in person and have most of his spoken word cd's. No, not everything the guys say's I agree with......but he is a straight shooter, no BS with Henry. I saw him again at case western in cleveland a couple of weeks ago......awesome show. He really is genious when it comes to mixing in humor with his social commentary. Yes, he's ridiculed steroids before......so what?? he's allowed that opinion, but he also makes it clear that you're allowed yours, and not everything he say's is going to be agreed with or is going to be popular. I don't like people that expect you to agree with everything they say........Henry said alot of liberal things at a mostly conservative college that most people "wouldn't have gone there"......but he doesn't care, he's going to speak his mind. Whether you like what he say's or not he IS going to make you think, therefore I respect him and not just find him humorous.....which he definitely is though. I'm a techno freak, but I almost cried when he ripped techno in one of his cd's.

Every interview that I have heard rollins talk in, he sounded silly. He fumbles his words because he tries to use a diff-word everytime to describe the same thing. To stand on stage and have a prewritten script in his head is one thing but to shoot from the hip, manson would demolish him in my opinion. His anger is not made up. It comes from somewhere. How is someone that is so judgemental and angry at piece with himself. That type of personality does not exist without something behind it. But if you listen to him he will tell you that he is what he is. I don't buy it and any psychiatrist would have a field day with him.
