Help!

I used to do the Doggshit routine (similar to HIT). For those of you who aren't familiar it was real slow negatives and exploding on the positive of the lift and you would lift until muscle failure. The thing with this program wasn't about the amount of weight you lifted more about the technique (and I got some amazing gains). I also was sore all the time. Well now I don't have a spot and am having problems doing this type of lifting. I still have the intensity but am looking for ideas. I heard 5x5 is good...Any other ideas?

Check out the training sticky at the top of the board....I've never done the doggcrap routine and am admittedly unfamiliar with it. I understand it isn't great for anybody concerned with strength/performance, but it does grow muscle....and it is very EASY to fuck it up royally if you don't follow it the way it was meant to be followed.

5x5 is pretty fool-proof. Basically, getting good at big lifts and eating is what grows muscle and 5x5 is a pretty idiot proof way to go about that. I'd always recommend 5x5 or something that simply gets you progressively stronger on big lifts in the 4-8 rep range over DC and HST etc etc because why overcomplicate and increase the chances of messing it up?

Where are you at now and what are your goals?

it's doggcrapp, not shit... 5x5 is a nice routine to alternate as you're not burning out your nervous system with beyond-failure and you get a lot more volume in on the core lifts
