Help with digital camera.

I am supposed to be working, but instead, I am trying to get the pics from my new digital camera to download on my pc. I installed the camedia and quick time so everything should be fine. However, after hooking the serial port to the camera no photos show up. There is not an error message, it just says no files. However, there are 27 photos on the camera itself. Does anybody have any idea what I am doing wrong?

Did you tell the camera to download?
Usually you have to change the camera into a download mode after connecting the Serial or USB cable to it...

There is not a download on the camera. You are supposed to open the lens barrier and that is it. The program is making a connection with the camera. However, no images are found.
