help w/ ON whey protein

Ok I ordered a 10lb bag of the double chocolate because I've always heard rants and raves about the price/flavor/quality of ON

Im curious, it says every 5-6 ounces add one scoop. Is this correct? My shaker only has 25 ounces total so this entire thing would get 5-6 scoops (i know not to drink all that at one time, just being theoretical)

The reason I'm asking.. when I add one scoop to every 5-6 ounces, (I'm doing 12oz right now, 2 1/2 scoops before bed), it tastes like chocolate water. I can barely even drink it. It's like water with a disgusting aftertaste.

The only other proteins I've drank were those little RTD boxes of Myoplex and the taste, and even the consistancy seem nothing alike.

What am I doing wrong? Should I start using milk instead of water? Should I just add more scoops, or is this what is expected from a whey protein??

Um ya, use milk. That's a BIG DUH. Milk provides the thickness to it.

I don't know what everyone is raving about. I think ON's whey tastes like crap.

Try MRM's chocolate protein or Dymatize's. Both taste AND mix better than that ON crap.

Get used to it. The less water, the better it tastes. I use 5 ounces and Ice. If it is not really cold, kind of tastes like crap. I just finished a 10 lber, and I have no complaints. I just got a 5 lber of chocolate mint. It took me a while to get used to it, but it's cool now.

If you're going to mix it in water, get it brain-freeze cold, makes a BIG difference. If you can tolerate milk, all the better. (I had to switch to water as milk doesn't really agree with me.)

HTH.

milk will make me poop faster than the protein will

thanks guys

i just tried mixing it with chocolate soy milk and damn it actually tastes good

Got to use milk. I take two full scoops per glass of milk. Stir it up and let it sit for a couple of minutes. stir it up again....this will help prevent clumps.
taystes great!! (well maybe not great but a lot better than water and whey)
:mix:

Try using less water like Ianhockey91 said. I use two scoops with about 6 oz water and it tastes a lot better.

try using an unflavored whey protein- you dont have to just add to milk or water- you can add it to anything- if its a good one you wont even taste the protein.

iv been using ON for a while, to me by far best tasting....use about 10-12 ounces of water for 2.5 scoops.....dont stir it and shit, just put in a bottle and shake the hell out of it for 20 seconds

Dymatizes elite protein is damn good stuff... I sometimes look forward to it when I havent had a glass. Tastes like a malt chocolate shake to me (cafe mocha). Ive never tasted ON, but no matter, milk adds to the protein and nutrients so use milk when using any protein (except new fruit flavors).

Ya know Ive been reading about ON whey on these boards for a while. And all I ever hear is its cheap and it tasts good. Well thats great!. Can somebody write a post and say "hey Ive been taking it for 6months as my primary supplement and I gained 5lbs and lost 2% bodyfat. After all thats what most of us are looking for. Until I read a post that says they have actually "changed" for the better using the product I aint buying it. Cheap and taste good doesnt equal results. Unless of course some people are using it to maintain where they are.

Most people arent going to turn one brand of protein into a 6 month case study. ON is good stuff IMO. In addition most people on the board arent on just protein and protein wont cause you to lose body fat.
