help me out - i can barely walk

2 days ago i worked out w/dread lord (after a period of not working out) and i did some leg press and calf raises (about 280 for 3 sets of 15)
and i think i hurt myself because i cant walk on my left leg. i cant put any weight on it, i cant bend the heel down, such as the motion u use when u walk
this is the same leg that i hurt my achilles on a few months ago, but that wasnt very serious and i easily recovered, or so i thought.

any ideas what the hell is wrong or what i can do to get better? i have been drinking alot of water to see if i am just dehydrated and taking asprin.

help me out here - i have to hop everywhere i go. and i live up stairs so it is hard for me to leave or do anything :\

You probably had a slight tear in your achillies, it healed and you've stressed it. Give it a day with heat and if that doesn't improve go get an x-ray to see if you have a tear.

Yikes....Does not sound good Dreadlady!

Wodin, how do you know when to use heat or ice? I've heard ice should be used...then some say heat.....?????

Hope you're better soon Dread!!!!

not sure if is the same thing but anyway, a while ago i did calf raises. The next day i was fairly sore, but 2 days after doing them i couldnt even straighten my leg. It was like my calf had tensed up into a tight ball. So, i was hopping arounf for a few days after..i guess that was some sort of cramp.

dread_lady,

You know I only come with the best of intentions in mind, but I'm afraid I have to agree with slickdadd and supersizeme.

It would be easiest to approach this by simply having Dread Lord hack it off with an axe, if he has no objections.

Vix...Ice is good for immeadiate use for the reduction of swealing for about 6 hours. After that, heat use to improve flexability in the damaged area and blood flow.

nah just cut them both off at the waist and get some sweet tank treads installed like johnny 5.

Los Lobos kick your butt, Los Lobos kick your face..
Los Lobos kick your balls into out-er spaaaaace.

Why isn't that movie constantly on USA anymore? I'm calling my local cable company.

actually its funny because before i posted this i was asking him to cut my leg off :\

dread lord had some leftover muscle relaxers and naproxen so ive been taking those and they help a bit
i can move my ankle more but i still cant really walk on it

cant really go to the DR yet, no insurance and dont want to spend the money
i will go monday if i still cant walk, otherwise i will just deal with it

The rash is usually red, not raised and confined to the nappy area. "

owwwwwww

what I dont understand is why in the hell are you stressing your leg when you fucked it up before, your achilles.......dont you know that, that muscle once hurt takes one of the longest times to heal after injury..................my advice is right after you hurt it you should have stopped, meaning after doing the shit you did dont do shit, then ice the hell out of it to prevent any swelling or inflamation at the site of injury, then you should ice 8 times a day for the first 24 hours, then rotate ice and heat, meaning ice it for 20 minutes then heat it for 20 minutes, then ice again and heat again, do that everyday! Some advice don't be doing heavy lifts for your body once youve had an injury........you have got to do it slowly...........I hurt my shoulder doing chest on a thursday heavy, then turned around on the following tuesday trying to rep 315 12 times.......well I felt a pull and a strain, had to work around it and nurse it for 4 weeks, now I can rep 225 for 40 reps again, after the injury I could barely do 20 lb dumbells, and couldnt even do 135 on the bench press, you dont have an injury and then fuckin kill yourself when it doesnt hurt, you may not feel it but the injury or tear can still be real small and any pressure over the amount your body can take will do what happened to you!
